Amazon product image size: 1000 px for zoom, white background

Amazon product images must be 500 to 10,000 pixels on the longest side, and 1,000 pixels or more turns on zoom, so a square main image of at least 1000 × 1000 pixels meets the size rule; the main image also needs a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255).

Amazon sets the longest side, not the shape: at least 500 pixels, at most 10,000, and 1,000 or more so shoppers can zoom. The main image needs a pure white background and the product filling about 85% of the frame. Six-IR can remove the background, put the product on white and save a JPG at the size you choose.

How to resize a photo for Amazon

  1. Press Open the free resizer and drop in your photo (iPhone HEIC works).
  2. In the Size tab, type the width and height from the table, such as 1000 and 1000 for the product photo, zoom-ready. Smart crop places the frame; drag it if you'd rather choose.
  3. Press Make the file and download it. It's free, and the photo never leaves your device.

Questions

What size should an Amazon product image be?

At least 1,000 pixels on the longest side, so zoom works. Amazon accepts 500 to 10,000 pixels on the longest side and recommends JPEG. A 1000 × 1000 square meets that; a bigger photo is fine too.

Does the main Amazon image need a white background?

Yes. Amazon asks for pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255) behind the main image, with the product taking up 85% of it. In Six-IR, press Remove background in the AI Tools tab, then pick White in the Fit & Crop tab.

Can I make a small photo bigger for Amazon?

Amazon says not to enlarge small images artificially. Start from the biggest photo you have; Six-IR shrinks and crops it to the size you type, and never needs to stretch a large photo.

Which file type should I use for Amazon?

JPEG is what Amazon recommends. TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF are also accepted. Six-IR saves JPG, PNG or WebP; choose JPG.
